The Evolution of Davis Square

Posted on January 7, 2012

Just this week I visited what I think is the newest edition to Davis Square – a basement bar under Foundry on Elm called Saloon. Cool vibe, though it still smells new (like newly varnished wood).

Thinking about the “Evolution of Davis Square” check out this recent article in Boston Magazine. It looks at businesses in Davis in terms of the Old Guard (Somerville Theatre, McKinnon’s…), the Pioneers (Redbones, The Burren…), The Settlers (Dave’s Fresh Pasta, Anna’s…) and the Newbies (Posto, Foundry on Elm…).

Interesting food (and drink) for though. What’s your favorite old or new place in Davis Square?
