Skating and Swimming in Somerville!

Posted on February 6, 2012

While we’ve had such a mild winter that it’s hard to think about wintertime sports, I was talking to a friend the other day and he told me about free ice skating at the rink on Somerville Ave between Porter and Union Squares. So for your wintertime – or anytime – ice skating fix, check out the Veterans Memorial Rink at 570 Somerville Avenue and their public skating hours. No worries if you don’t have skates, you can rent them there for $5.

If skating isn’t your thing but you’re looking for another wintertime exercise activity, check out the pool at the J.F. Kennedy Elementary School at 5 Cherry Street in Somerville. In addition to public lap swim times for just a few dollars for Somerville residents, the Kennedy School also offers swimming lesson!

Two great resources for Somerville residents looking for skating or swimming fun and exercise!
